Exercise: Add Phone number and E-mail address to Customer table

Add PersonPhone and EmailAddress Tables to the DSA

Steps:

  1. In the the Business Unit
    1. Drag PersonPhone into the DSA
    2. Drag EmailAddress into the DSA
  2. Reorder tables in the DSA so PersonPhone and EmailAddress are above the Customer table


Add Phone Number and E-mail Address to Customer Table

Steps:

  1. Expand the tables PersonPhone, EmailAddress and Customer in the DSA Data Warehouse
  2. Drag the BusinessEntityID fields from the PersonPhone and EmailAddress tables and drop them on the PersonID field in the Customer table one by one
  3. Drag the PhoneNumber and EmailAddress fields and drop them on the Customer table name to add them as Conditional Lookup Fields
  4. Expand the Tables node in the MDW Data Warehouse and select the Customer table
  5. Drag the PhoneNumber and EmailAddress fields from the Data Movement pane and drop them on the Customer table name one by one.
  6. Deploy and Execute the project using option Only modified tables and views


Add Phone Number and E-mail Address to the MDW

Steps:

  1. Expand the tables node in the MDW
  2. Click on the Customer table
  3. Drag the EmailAddress and PhoneNumber fields from the Data Movement pane onto the Customer table in the MDW
  4. Deploy & Execute the project & Select Only modified tables and views
